Dr Anne Whitehouse FRSA is a Cambridge scientist, mystic, Sacred Feminine Initiator and founder of Yin Power Alchemy: an unexpected combination that absolutely works for her. For more than 25 years, her work has bridged worlds that are usually kept apart, bringing the questioning mind and analytical rigour of her scientific background to a deep exploration of subconscious programming, subtle energy, power and the Sacred Feminine.

Anne began her career in the hard sciences at Jesus College Cambridge before becoming a lecturer in engineering. Being young and female in a male-dominated, often hostile environment turned out to be her very personal introduction to the cages. Trying to squeeze herself into a male default world that had no place for her feminine self proved impossible. Her body told her long before her mind understood it. Stress and anxiety turned into a slow deterioration in her health. The result was a spectacular burnout that ended her academic career at thirty and sent her life in a very different direction.

Rather than leaving one world for another, Anne began exploring territory that conventional science did not encompass, while retaining the investigative habits her scientific training had given her. For years she investigated the architecture of subconscious programming, the inherited beliefs, hidden rules and ancestral patterns that shape behaviour and limit potential.

Then in 2014 her seven-year-old daughter Rebecca died suddenly in her sleep. The shock shattered her capacity to hold power, and none of her existing skills could reach where she was. It was in rebuilding from scratch that she discovered the deepest layer of the mechanism she had spent years mapping: how we lose access to our power, and how that power can be restored. That discovery changed everything.

Her work deepened into the Sacred Feminine and the missing Yin component of power that she believes patriarchal culture progressively suppressed. But Anne’s purpose was never simply to create another spiritual practice. She wanted to restore these capacities to ordinary human life, making work with energy and the unseen accessible beyond the spiritual and esoteric worlds in which it is usually contained.

Over more than 25 years, Anne’s investigation has developed into Yin Power Alchemy, an original body of work centred on restoring the Yin dimension of human power and our capacity to work consciously with subtle energy. It brings together restoration, energetic practice, initiation and the alchemising of inherited subconscious patterns, not simply as techniques for solving problems but as capacities that become integrated into ordinary life. Anne now trains and certifies practitioners in the work, taking Yin Power Alchemy beyond her own practice and teaching and into the world through a growing body of practitioners.

Her forthcoming book, Uncage!, is the culmination of her life’s journey and discoveries, bringing together for the first time the ideas about power, subconscious programming and the hidden legacy of patriarchy that have emerged from more than 25 years of investigation.

She is the author of Pull Back Your Power (2019). A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, she has taught, spoken and worked internationally, bringing her work to audiences across the UK, Europe, the US, Australia and beyond.

Anne lives in the UK with her husband. She continues to develop and teach Yin Power Alchemy, train practitioners, and write about power, the Sacred Feminine, consciousness and the unseen forces that shape human experience.
